I have just installed KDE Neon on my HP laptop and notice something strange with the keyboard. When I hit shift plus 2 to get an @ symbol, instead I get a “ , and visa versa. Shift and “ gives me an @ symbol. How can I correct this?
In the System Settings app, go to Keyboard and check what layout is configured. Sounds like it may not match your physical keyboard. (For example, using the UK English keyboard layout in Plasma when your actual keyboard is US English would cause the behaviour you describe.)
Thanks for the tip. What I had to do additionally was to add to the layouts section. I added Australia and all works fine now.
