I am currently learning how Kdenlive handles keyframes, and I would appreciate your guidance on a critical issue I am encountering.
When I apply a saved or custom effect (like Pan & Zoom or Camera Shake) to images or videos with different durations—like a 4-second image vs. an 8-second image—the motion looks fine at first. However, once I save, close, and reopen the project, the keyframes scramble. They bunch up at the beginning, shift out of place, or completely ruin the effect.
Since keyframes seem to lock to fixed times instead of relatively stretching to fit the clip’s full length, is there a fix for this bug or a simple way to make keyframes automatically scale across clips of different lengths?
Hi @Amlan_Biswas, and welcome to the forum and community.
This …
… looks like a bug. I would encourage you to open a bug report, instructions are here.

Unfortunately, there is no fix for that. I have to check whether the Keyframe Panel (aka Dopesheet) currently in development changes the way keyframes are managed (statis vs relative).
I can confirm that the work on the Dopesheet doesn’t change the way keyframes are handled. But there will be discussions about whether we can implement a feature that allows keyframes from a copied effect to be made relative to the clip upon copying. When and if that will be the case, I cannot say right now.
