Kmail:How are Identities mapped to Sending Accounts?

Hello,
I have two identities two sending accounts and two receiving accounts.
Receiving is fine, but when I try sending using the non default identity KMAIL uses the default account sending details. The mail is rejected by Vivaldi mail because the sending email does not match the email used to login to the SMTP server. The SMTP server. being used is that of the default sending SMTP server. Instead it should be the non default SMTP server. Hence my question:

:How are Identities mapped to Sending Accounts?

@cecille-boryp:

First, welcome to the KDE Discuss Forums.

In the KMail settings on the β€œAccounts” page β†’ click on an Identity and select β€œModify” β†’ click the β€œAdvanced” tab β†’ activate the β€œOutgoing Account” check-box and, select the Outgoing Account related to that Identity.
<The KMail Handbook>
<Chapter 4. Configure KMail>
<General Information>
<Accounts Page>

And, while you’re there, please check all the β€œAccounts” settings β†’ all the Identities settings and, all the Receiving settings and, all the Sending settings …

  • You have more than one Identity – therefore there are check-boxes which have to be activated to select the appropriate Send and Receive services for each Identity …
