I am using kMyMoney 5.1.3 on Ubuntu 24.04.4 LTS
I have been using it for years to get investment fund prices daily. The last time this worked was on 15th July 2026. The Update Dialog reports the following message
"Executing /usr/share/kmymoney/misc/financequote.pl ukfunds GB00B0CNHB64…
Unable to update price for GB00B0CNHB64 (no price or no date)"
None of my funds return prices now.
Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

No definite answer, but some things to consider.
First, 5.1.3 is very out of date, and there have been changes to how stock price updates are done, so you might consider trying a more recent version - through Appimage, snap, or flatpak.
You quote shows you are specifically using Perl Finance::Quote to retrieve prices. See the KMyMoney User mailing list thread starting with Finance::Quote in 5.2. There is no definite solution there either, but it’s possibly related. Can you try using Finance::Quote from command line. That will confirm whether it is working, and we can then see if the issue is the mentioned version mismatch between what KMyMoney is expecting and what is installed.
Another possibility is to use a different source - I most commonly use Yahoo Finance, although it may be invoked differently between 5.1.3 and 5.2.x.

Version 5.2.70
When I initially had the problem I did try version 5.2.70 which is now in the snap store. I realised that I then had two versions installed. I think this has created further problems with th later version as if I try to configure the app from the Settings menu/Configure KMyMoney the app crashes. Also if I edit the funds in this version I cannot configure any online sources for the funds. The checkbox is disabled and the listbox is empty. If I try to update the fund price I get “Source Yahoo Finance does not exist.” I have tried re-installing it with no effect.
Regarding version 5.1.3
I ran the perl script from the command line:
“perl financequote.pl ukfunds GB00B0CNHB64
Error 2”
It returns “Error 2” I have also seen this in the system log when running version 5.1.3
I have tried reconfiguring the fund to use Yahoo finance and got this result in the app

The problem with the App crashing when configuring kMyMoney is already reported as a bug “519575”. My version is “5.2.70-da5718809”.

One recommendation is to use the APT version.
“I confirm that the snap version 5.2.70 of KMyMoney on Ubuntu is corrupted.
Uninstall the snap version and install the APT version and everything is working fine back.”
I Installed the AppImage version “kmymoney-5.2-5919-linux-gcc-x86_64.AppImage” “Version 5.2.2-9fdd2cc”
This fixes the configuration problem, but prices are still not updated.

I have resolved the issue with the funds not updating in version 5.2.2-9fdd2cc.
I stopped using Finance::Quote and used a modified version of Yahoo Finance.
The settings in .config/kmymoney/kmymoneyrc are:

Another change is required to re-configure each fund to use the Yahoo identifier instead of the ISIN. For example In the “Trading symbol” field change “GB00B2PLJJ36” to “0P0000KKC4.L” see “https://uk.finance.yahoo.com/quote/0P0000KKC4.L/profile/”
If you search for an ISIN e.g. “GB00B2PLJJ36” in “https://uk.finance.yahoo.com/” Yahoo will find that web page and you can use the Yahoo symbol for that fund in your fund configuration.
