Hello. I just did a brand new install of Kubuntu 24.04 on my computer. One of the first apps I installed was KMyMoney. I’ve been using it for years on an older Kubuntu computer. After installing through Discover gui, I opened my kmymoney file and saw that the Menu bar is completely missing and the past due/future bills section is missing (I’m sure I could turn it on in settings but I don’t have a menu bar to do that). I have uninstalled and reinstalled KMyMoney using Discover several times now but the menu bar is still missing. The version of KMyMoney in Kubuntu Discover is 5.1.3-1build15. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Assuming you do not want to compile your own version, you can try the Appimage (see Download and use the AppImage version | KMyMoney ). That will also get you 5.2.1, as 5.1.3 is not really supported any more. (It is a side effect of using LTS distros that they often only have older versions of many applications available,) First, however, try Ctl-M to get the menu back, although I don’t remember for certain if that is a Windows trick or if it might work for Ubuntu. Also, what happens if you just hit Alt-S to bring up the Settings menu. Ctl-Shift-. (period) should also bring up the main Configure KMyMoney dialog where you can add the section to the Home Page. One question - are you running a full KDE desktop, or Gnome?
Once that is all settled, we can see if your missing section returns.
I would be extremely surprised if a Kubuntu user used Gnome as their desktop ![]()
