Kmymoney not sorting ledger by date

for many years my kmymoney program worked great, but now when I open my checking account in ledger view the transactions are randomly shown by date, i.e. dates are scattered in no order. I dont know if I have a corrupted data file or what but I cannot get the ledger to order transactions by date from oldest to most recent. if I look in the payees all transactions seem to be there but they do not all show up in ledger view.

I use mint /xfce and installed kde from the software manager not the flatpak source, kmymoney worked on this setup for 3 months .

any suggestions will be appreciated

I was changing settings and hit restore defaults, then went back through the global settings and started customizing and all of a sudden the ledger sorted by date

I cant say exactly what the cause or solution was

First, you should tag this post with the KmyMoney tag so that it is flagged for more interested users.
Second, in the past, if I am not mistaken, you could simply click on the column heading (like Date) and voila! the column would be sorted. Now I find that it is more complicated but in a good way. I downloaded a recent stable appimage from Index of /ci-builds/office/kmymoney/5.2/linux
When you click on a column up pops a dialogue where you choose the first, second, third sorting keys etc. Try it. HTH
