I am wondering if krunner should be able to see and launch .desktop files placed in a subdirectory of ~/.local/share/applications? e.g. ~/.local/share/applications/mitch_apps/foo.desktop.
From what I can see on my Plasma 6.2.1 system (latest Arch updates) it seems like krunner does not see applications placed in such subdirectories. However, I am not sure if this is a bug or the correct behavior?
Thanks @ben2talk – that’s odd though. I’ve tried again on a fresh install and still no dice: only .desktop files placed in the root of ~/.local/share/applications show up for me, anything in a subdirectory is ignored
I created a ‘settings’ folder inside Applications, and everything I put in there (to launch kcmshell6 - for example ‘font manager’ as an application, rather than in settings) comes up in launcher and krunner.
They show as Applications with slightly different names, I edited them to avoid confusion.
