Kubuntu 23.04 - sddm hanging issue

Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask, I’ve tried the Kubuntu forums too.

I’m currently having an issue with SDDM where shutting down the computer will make it hang at a tty screen saying “The system will shut down now!”. A google search shows I’m not the first person with this issue on SDDM, but does anyone have any solutions?

Which version of SDDM are you using?
The Arch Wiki has a few notes on that issue if you are using a older version of SDDM.
