kwalletmanager creating "Default keyring" instead of kdewallet?

I am trying to move away from gnome-keyring to kwallet6. I am on artix + niri + dinit. I am having issues with the fact that the default wallet is not unlocked on login. I am following the KDE Wallet - ArchWiki guide.

I want to try to eliminate potential issues one by one, so let me first ask about this. The arch wiki says that for kwallet-pam to work, I need the default wallet to be named “kdewallet“. It also says that that is the default name. However I see this behaviour:

  1. Delete all wallets
  2. Create kdewallet with blowfish and login password
  3. Run element-desktop --password-store=“kwallet6”
  4. kwalletmanager5 prompts me to create a new wallet with the name “Default keyring“. Why?
