I’m new too troubleshooting so if I can be told how to provide some logs that could help please let me know.
Basically ever Since KWIN 6.3 anything that requires GPU runs super slow and will basically “freeze” the screen and won’t update until the game is out of focus or the mouse is constantly moving. To clarify the game is running just fine but its just the picture/window that doesn’t update.
I am running Fedora 41, I have tried different kernel versions and mesa versions. The only fix is downgrading back to kwin-6.2.5. I have tried mulitple versions of kwin 6.3x but they all suffer this same issue. I am running a 7800x3d and 7900 xtx. I can’t dupelicate this issue on my Fedora laptop, with its integraded AMD GPU or its Dedicated NVIDIA GPU. Is there some other package causing this to break KWIN 6.3x? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
It’s everything that uses the GPU. I did some further testing and OBS doesn’t capture these freezing at all. I also get the below errors in the logs. I’ll try it without the iGPU plugged in and see what happens.
