Kwin crash after waking from sleep

After updating to plasma 6.5, waking up from sleep and unlocking screen locker, I find every app has crashed and Firefox shows a crash reporting window. My samsung G7 has a weird quirk where it rapidly disconnects and reconnects twice, but invoking the same behavior without sleeping (just turning off the displays with the shortcut) works okay, and nothing crashes.
Logs:
paaster.io_log

I included logs from suspend to shutdown after preprocessing with grep and sed to remove some PII (tailscale lines, auditd lines, ipv6 adresses and hostnames)

System details:

AMD CPU, AMD 6800XT, Arch Linux with cachyos zen4 repos fully updated.
Three monitors, one with quirks.
The only third party kwin effect I am using is force blur.

Is this some user error, or should I make a bug report?

I’m also experiencing such crash when waking from sleep with a rather similar setup (1 laptop monitor + 2 external monitors, one of which has something that makes it take some seconds to wakeup) with an amd gpu (amd Radeon 780M from the Ryzen 7 8845HS), all running on EndeavourOS.

I’m yet to pinpoint the exact reason of the crash from my logs, but the similarities are there.

System details:

AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS with Radeon 780M, EndeavourOS with Linux 6.17.5-arch1-1 on Wayland.
1 Integrated display plus 2 external.

I recently reported a similar issue I had, to amd drivers.

And lucky me, I got a nice QR code blue screen of Death, that allowed me to report a good trace about the crash:

Looks like it was this bug, which should now be fixed in the next release

I am experiencing the same thing and I am on 6.5.1. In the past, it would hard crash and send a crash report after restarting the shell; now it just hangs plasmashell and becomes unresponsive.

If you have a mouse active (and krunner Alt+F2), then KWin or the graphic stack isn’t crashing and that’s an unrelated issue in plasmashell.

And you can report a stack trace.

coredumpctl debug plasmashell -A "-ex bt -ex quit" |& tee backtrace.txt

I don’t think its the same thing, since I have been resuming from sleep multiple times a day and its perfectly stable now. its probably another issue like what meven replied.

It appears that adding amdgpu.dc=1 to my kernel boot parameters has solved my issues. It’s only been a day but no more weird stuff of Firefox crashing after sleep if left open, or kwin hanging or crashing.

I had mouse, and if kitty was open it was sorta working, but conky was showing in the process list but no longer connected to the desktop and nothing else worked (no keyboard shortcuts either). It looked like the compositor crashed (like it did in the past) but plasmashell wasn’t properly restarted when it tried to recover. Can’t prove it now anymore though.

That said, as per my previous message, adding amdgpu.dc=1 seemed to have helped fixing the issue as for the past day with that added I have not had any issues even with Firefox open (which was a big no-no before, as it seems)
