When my laptop is “asleep” (in suspend-to-RAM standby state) and I either plug or unplug a power cord, it wakes up. The power cord may either be a direct line from a power supply, or a USB or Thunderbolt cable from one of my docks.
Is there a way to prevent the laptop from waking up when the power cord is removed?
It’s a bit of a nuisance, especially when removing the power cord when I want to take the laptop with me. It wakes up, and then I put it into my bag while it is running.
Thanks.
double check your power settings for what to do when the power button is pressed or when power is AC is applied/removed.
there may also be a setting in your firmware to control wake upon power button or AC changes.
have you checked the battery health?
Thanks for your response. While I did not find an option to toggle waking up when mains power is lost, after entering the BIOS settings (thanks for the hint!) and saving the settings without any actual changes, the behavior is restored to what it was: When the laptop sleeps, it sleeps (I wish I had that ability personally
).
