I have a new debian 13 with kde. Libreoffice Writer just froze. I left it alone for 4 hours to see if it would come back but it did not. As a result I launched the system monitor and asked it to close the application.
Is there any log I should forward to assist in understanding why?

Instead of you distro version, I would try getting from Libre. https://www.libreoffice.org/
My distro version would work after the initial install, but then stop working for many decades which is why I ran the appimage for a long time, but recently started just manually downloading and installing from Libre.
