Lock screen not accepting correct password.

Hello,
switched over to linux to get away from windows.

lockscreen fails to accept passwords. new user/changed password doesn’t matter lockcreen fails to accept.

KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.12
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.115.0
Qt Version: 5.15.13
Kernel Version: 6.14.4 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i5-10300H CPU @ 2.50GHz
Memory: 31.2 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® UHD Graphics

I think i have traced it to being an issue with SDDM and PAM however i am not sure how to solve the problem.

try logging from a TTY (Ctrl + Alt + F1/2/3), and you will get a black screen, put your username and password, see if it works, then if your plasma session is X11, then run startx, if you use wayland, run startplasma-wayland
