Whenever I end a session through logging out, restarting, or shutting down, it plays the logout sound. But, in my notification settings, I have the notification sounds disabled for the “Logout” event.
It’s only fixed by just disabling notification sounds outright. How do I fix this, without doing that? I’m on Fedora 44 running Plasma 6.7.4.
maybe it’s the “logout” event you are hearing
maybe its some other event that is triggered when you log out.

just because the notification sound happens when you logout, does not mean it is a logout notification.
how do you know it is the logout notification sound or that no other notification is using that same sound?
what happens if you change the sound to a different sound or change it from a sound to a notification popup, for instance.
TLDR: To fix this, enable the notification sound, change it, then logout, log back in, and disable it.
I’ve checked my notification settings, and nothing uses the same sound that is used for logging out. Changing the notification sound changed the sound that plays when it ends my session. However, after doing so and logging out (and even reverting back to the default sound), it seems to simply remove the splash screen that appears when logging out altogether, no longer playing any sound. It only shows the splash screen if the logout sound is enabled. I think that’s what’s meant to happen. Not sure why this fixed it, but it did.
It’s more like, to prevent the sound from cutting out, it stalls logout until it ends, and because otherwise the logout is so fast, you don’t get the time to see the splash screen
