Merge Kwin-effects-forceblur with default blur

Sorry if this is the wrong category for this.

There is a fork of the default Blur desktop effect called kwin-effects-forceblur which adds additional features like forcing blur and refraction. these additional features are very useful for achieving things like transparent windows with blurred backgrounds. The guy working on it no longer wants to but is willing to keep it working until there is a replacement for it. because of this, the community has mentioned the idea of trying to get the project merged with the default blur effect. I am making this post to ask the Developers to do it/if they’d be ok with someone else doing it.

The best way to get developer attention is to make a merge request. Even a draft/early merge request is good enough to get a discussion started and how to proceed with getting this upstreamed. Maybe the additional feedback and review will make it even better

Simply no, since besides additional features forced-blur was introduced to fix a issue with blur.

Don’t I need to actually have some code ready or something for that? I’m not a dev and I don’t even know where to start for that.

And yet it’s far superior to default KDE blur in every way, ESPECIALLY this god awful blur on 6.5

Very GNOME like response though bravo
