Early in 2025 my hard drive went kaput and I lost my KMyMoney file. So I started a new version on the new hard drive..
Recently I found a back up I had made in 2023 going back to 2017.
From paper records I re entered from 2023 to Jan 32 2025 in the early iteration.
Now I would like to merge the two iterations into one by coping one into the other. Is this possible? And how do I do it?
I have a gut feeling that this is not easily possible. The main problem being the internal IDs used to identify the objects. Since you created everything afresh, I expect the IDs being different for the same object in both files.
The best bet would be to export the data from the old file using QIF or CSV. I have never done that, so please expect some hiccups along the line. If it is worth the effort is something you have to decide.
