merkuro calendar crashes on launch

qrc:/qt/qml/org/kde/merkuro/calendar/qml/Main.qml:696:9: QML ScheduleView: Created graphical object was not placed in the graphics scene.
malloc(): unaligned tcache chunk detected
KCrash: Application 'merkuro-calendar' crashing... crashRecursionCounter = 2
\[1\] 5853 abort (core dumped) merkuro-calendar

heres what I tried :

  • deleted all akonadi files in ~/.config and ~/.local/share
  • use LANG= and LANGUAGE= env vars
  • reinstalling merkuro
OS: Arch Linux x86_64
Kernel: Linux 7.2.6-zen2-1-zen
Desktop Environment: KDE Plasma 6.7.5
Window Manager: KWin (Wayland)
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600 (12) @ 4.72 GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Lite Hash Rate \[Discrete\]
Memory: 5.34 GiB / 31.28 GiB (17%)

malloc(): unaligned tcache chunk is heap corruption, so nuking akonadi alone often doesnt fix it.

try doin this:

  1. coredumpctl info merkuro-calendar
paste the top of the stack
  2. clear merkuro itself:
    rm -rf ~/.config/merkuro* ~/.local/share/merkuro* ~/.cache/merkuro*
  3. wipe qml cache:
    rm -rf ~/.cache/qmlcache ~/.cache/qtshadercache*
  4. sudo pacman -S merkuro akonadi-calendar kdepim-runtime
  5. merkuro-calendar 2>&1 | tee /tmp/merkuro.log

if it still dies on ScheduleView.qml:696 paste that coredumpctl backtrace. on nvidia+wayland also try once from an X11 session to see if the crash follows the gpu path.

ended up updating everything instead of merkuro and akonadi and it works now
