Method of having lower level access to devices (e.g Canon TR8650 - Scangear) without breaking immutable philosophy

Is there a way to have an environment that does not beak immutable booting (KDE-LINUX) where items like scanners (ie. Scangear for Canon - Viewscan etc.) can be supported. Some scanners (Canon TR8650) require lower level access and default APP environs will not support it.

Printers: Most modern “driverless” and wireless printers made in the last 10 years or so — including all listed here — will work out of the box. Drivers are included for many older wired printers, but not all. See the list of known incompatible printers here.

Sadly not. It is a limitation for printers that don’t support driverless printing. (Some of these printers can still work wired)

Looks like it requires AUR (en) - canon-tr8600-series

You can also try building the aur package and installing it with a sysext.

Thought so - So AUR is not compatible with KDE-Linux (Use it on Manjaro all the time!) - Oh well — My Epson should work for most activities anyway
