Missing h.264 for rendering

Hi,
I’m new with Kdenlive and are preparing my first video. I want to adjust the videobitrate. So I create a new preset, choose container mp4 and want to set the codec to h.264. BUt that codec is not available. Why is it missing? It is one of the most common codecs.

What OS, version and installation method of Kdenlive are you using?

thanks for your reply.
My OS is Windows 11, the version of Kdenlive is 25.12.3.
I selected mp4 and startet to create a new preset. I think the screenshots show what I mean.
Meanwhile I used the quality slider. But there I needed several tryings to get the right file size.

This list is not sorted alphabetically and unfortunately cannot be searched. Scroll down further in the list and you will find h264.

Oh, thanks. As the list starts in alphabetical order I did not expect to find another “h” at the end.
