And make the button REAL shiny, yknow, How it looks on the bottom right when you have options to apply in the System Settings app.
Because I’m honest to god, When I saw pending operations late into the night, I thought “Oh it’s working on it!”, I kept my laptop open ALL night only to notice literally nothing happened; And when I pressed apply it did it in like literally 5 seconds.
It’s not “super shiny” it’s just ungrayed out when you’ve made a change. Don’t need to be made a tacky beacon. You just need to pay attention.
Well… Sorry for sounding annoying but what I meant was that when there’s changes to apply in settings there’s an outline. (which in partition manager, there isn’t.)
I personally think that the apply button should have some sort of special treatment that makes it very obvious that it’s… there.
Maybe text, Or the apply button being really easy to notice.
I want idiots like me to understand things without thinking too hard about it. (which is basically the whole idea of UI/UX).
Any sort of hint would be great but personally when I use software and I want to do something (like resize a partition) I look for the resize button, When I find it, I use it, And then I’m done.
The problem here is that when I use software, I don’t exactly look for the apply button.
UNLESS, it’s mentioned that it’s “right there” or something like that.
Telling me “There is still an operation pending” basically makes my brain go “Oh. It’s working on it. I guess I’ll wait.”
In settings, if I change something, I notice the apply button changing. and even if I don’t the app says “The current page has unsaved changes. Apply changes or discard them?”
It puts the issue right into my face, And forces me to make a choice.
unlike… partition manager.
Which is why I made this suggestion.
In System Settings if you change something and then attempt to switch to something else in setting or attempt to close setting you will be prompted in in the middle of the screen about it.
