Mozc handwriting input

Hello,

I am using Mozc to input Japanese under KDE on TuxedoOS. Some time ago (a year or so), Mozc used to have an option to input kanji by tracing them with the mouse. It then offered candidate kanji to choose from, and if you were close to the proper stroke order, your desired kanji was among the first ten candidates.

However, Mozc does no longer offer this option on my system. I seem to remember reading somewhere that the packages for this were removed, or something, I have no idea why.

My question is, is there a way to get back this functionality? Failing that, is there another input method for Japanese that does have this option?

I did find something called tegaki, but it is only offered as sources for Linux. I have no idea how to use said sources, I do not know anything about programming.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks.
