When I maximize some apps like discord and spotify the window decorations just disappear
Ok, can I ask why this is a problem?
I can’t quite remember how, but I set all my windows to appear like fullscreen - i.e. no border when maximised.
The same shortcut that maximises windows will also restore them (for me, RCtrl\ ) and also holding MetaLeft Mouse drag to unmaximise.
Certainly Discord can use Plasma decorations or use it’s own, I’m not sure (I use Vesktop but I think it’s the same) but settings lets you choose the Discord titlebar, Menu bar etc.
Its just smt that i want to have, i’m new to linux and didnt understand what u said in the last paragraph, what should i do?
When the window is not maximised, look at it - you’ll see if it’s the same or different. Windows made with different toolkits behave differently… however, ‘just something I want to have’ isn’t really valid.
I have mine set in ~/.config/kwinrc
[Windows]
AutoRaise=true
AutoRaiseInterval=1000
BorderSnapZone=14
BorderlessMaximizedWindows=true
ClickRaise=false
RollOverDesktops=true
ShadeHover=true
SnapOnlyWhenOverlapping=true
TitlebarDoubleClickCommand=Maximize (vertical only)
WindowSnapZone=14
So srry to keep asking smt you probably already have responded, but what should i change in this configuration to appear the buttons (windows decorations) in apps like discords, and that config file, is it global of for a single app and how can i find it? I’m quite dumb and new at linux srry
Many applications have in the settings the option to have native window decorations.
But also you can learn to control the desktop and extremely well without touching them.
