MySQL is not available in Settings-Database

I just migrated from Digikam 8.2.0, installed with apt to Digikam 8.4.0, installed by snap. With 8.2.0, I used an NFS-mounted NAS share. I tried to set this up with 8.4.0, but first, the selection window for albums ignores NFS mountpoints. Then I found out that with SQLite NFS shares are no longer supported. But that I could use them to store assets and put the database in MySQL/MariaDB. Great! I thought, that’s what I’d actually prefer.

Weeelllll. No dice. There is no way to set this up. Settings->Database only offers SQLite.

For now, I will remove 8.4.0 and install 8.2.0 with apt.

Any advice how I can get 8.4.0 to work with a MySQL database and a NAS share for data?
