New Fedora KDE install is outputting a blank screen

I installed fedora KDE a few days ago and before i can properly get it set up, after a bit of working, it just goes blank. The screen outputs a black screen and trying to do anything to the system results in it shutting down.

And worst part is that the problem persists when i boot in again. Sometimes it automatically shows the grub. I think its a problem with my install or the iso file. I got it from the official site and etched it on my usb stick.

I tried reinstalling fedora KDE but the same thing happened after a bit of use.

It doesnt happen instantly, the system does work perfectly fine with zero problems for a good while until it just doesnt. I have to make this topic with my tab because my laptop is unusable and i dont wanna reintall fedora again.

Still on my tab, soooo…. My laptop is lacking an operating system because i thought i could take a small risk and get some data back. Allow me to explain

I was looking into an os that wont fail me and opensuse tumbleweed sounded good so i took the usb out to my home pc which asked me reformat it, i thought why not and so i did. It formated the wrong partition and i lost my files which i backed up on the same usb that i was meant to flash. I know, bad practices. My bad

So i thought i can just reinstall fedora once more, it will keep the files in the home folder of my prev install. So i can get my files back. But i was curiuos if my install is broken or smt so i first tested the iso.

The results came bad, it recommended me that i shouldnt use the install and that it was broken. I foolishly thought it didnt apply to me since i already reinstalled it once and it worked for a good hour before going ded and i thought i could copy my files, which are my projects ive worked on since i was 11 btw, back onto my usb and reformat it and etch a new fedora iso onto it.

So i went with the install thinking im smart. Guess what? It failed, i tried to go to the boot menu and even worse news, the grub only picked my usb. My laptop has no OS anymore, i cant reintall fedora and get my home folder files anynore since there is no home folder, all gone from the root. Years of work, gone. My latest backup doesnt contain my two newest and projects which were 2 months of work which i think were saved on github but the photos werent saved elsewhere.

Let this be a lesson, always test the iso for faults. It takes less then 5 minutes

I can still etch a new fedora with another pc but all my work is gone for sure

New install is also broken, I opened a topic in the fedora discussion page

Latest iso image from the official website is fixed

It fixed nothing

I don’t think this is really the best place to get support on an issue with Fedora. It is highly unlikely the issue you describe is caused by KDE.

You really should be taking that one to Fedora. It is more likely you can get help there than here.

Best support I got there was to install opensuse. And that has led to more problems. Atp I wanna switch back to KDE neon even though I don’t like how it breaks sometimes
