After a couple of weeks now, just an update…
I’ve been so blown away by Linux (KDE to be specific) that I actually decided to sell my MacBook pro completely and have now bought a miniforum AI X1 running Fedora +KDE as my one and only main computer. It’s working like a dream!! 
I’ve been a Mac user since OS7.5
What the developers of KDE have achieved here is absolutely incredible, massive respect to you all. It’s exciting discovering this new world away from the big corporations. Thank you !!!
