Newbie Trying to Give Texts Fade-Ins (Rendering Bug?)

this video sums up my situation in 5 seconds: vimeo. com/ 1199945424 (i think it’s futile to try to describe what’s going on in words instead of just showing a 5 second video. let me know if that’s not allowed though.)

As you can see I’m trying to apply a Linear X fade-in to the “ZBLL” title clip (which has no other effects on it as you can see), but it’s clearly doing something weird. I tried rendering and it didn’t work in the exported video either.

Am I doing something wrong or is this an actual bug?

Okay as usual, issue solved in under 5 minutes after I ask for help. The fix was just to make the wipe relative to V1. I would like to know why that fixed things though. The clip on V3 only has a crop,scale,tilt effect where i cropped it down to a box around the arrow. Does that have something to do with this?
