Okular - Feature request: Add the ability to copy and paste shapes, images and notes

Would it be possible to add the ability to copy and paste:

  • Certain shapes like rectangles, arrows and some freehand lines
  • Images and screenshots
  • Notes

This would make studying much easier, instead of needing to adjust the dimensions of shapes every time when inserting them. Please also consider adding support for inserting screenshots, it would be very useful. Okular is an outstanding software, it saved me from the tsunami of ens****ified proprietary PDF viewing apps. I can’t thank you enough.

The newest Okular (26.08) has at least the ability to copy/paste some annotations. I’ve forgotten which ones exactly.

Can you try that out?

Thank you for your prompt reply. I’m on Kubuntu 26.04. I have okular 26.04.3 installed as a flatpak. I tried copying and pasting shapes, unfortunately it doesn’t work.

the copy/paste is new in 26.08.

I guess I’ll just wait for Ubuntu 26.10 to drop.

Please correct me if I’m wrong, but it seems Okular 26.08 doesn’t include the ability to paste images or screenshots.
