i have upgraded my plasma/neon system and i seem to have some issues with kwallet now
some of the keys are missing (network keys) the rest (ssh keys and chrome keystore) seem to be working fine
it would be nice if i can restore my old network keys/find a solution to this
i seem to have kwalletd6 v0.1 and kwalletmanager5 v26.04.2
current neon/plasma versions:
Operating System: KDE neon User Edition
KDE Plasma Version: 6.7.0
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.27.0
Qt Version: 6.11.1
Kernel Version: 6.17.0-35-generic (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
after a little bit of testing even trying to create new networks wont save their passwords to the wallet, I’d def like to use the wallet over having them saved in /etc directly
To store network passwords in your user’s kdewallet, you need to select the “Store password for this user only (encrypted)” option in the wifi settings tab.
Note it’ll delay online connection to after you successfully login.
And the old keys for networks and vpns were stored with this option
When creating a new network and saving the password (as encrypted for this user only) it seems to work until you exit the settings app and open it again to which selecting the network again and viewing it’s details will show a “no agents found” notification and the password being blank in a red input box, disconnecting from the network and trying to connect again will fail cause there are no secrets provided
