On demand character palette disrupts vim / vim mode in applications

Hi, I just tried using vim mode in the Obsidian flatpak and saw that the on demand pop-up to select special characters keeps appearing when I’m trying to move with the H J K L keys. Also happens with KWrite from flathub and vim itself from Konsole.

Is there a way to enable the on demand palette on demand (confusing, I know) with a keyboard shortcut perhaps?

I’m on latest KDE Linux

Actually, now that I’m thinking about it, a potentially better solution could be to add a timeout of some sort.

When a key is pressed continuously and the pop-up shows, after X miliseconds of the key still being pressed, get rid of the pop-up and allow the key to be spammed.
