Option to Lock Device + Turn off Screen on Lid Close in Power settings

I’ve been having issues with my wifi misbehaving when waking up from sleep- so my solution was to disable sleep on closing the lid of my laptop.

Only problem is, i have two choices- to turn the screen off, or lock the device. Not both. I would appreciate still having the screen lock without my laptop’s screen staying on when closed.

I feel like Lock Screen should implicitly turn off the display, or at least an additional option should be included to lock & turn off the screen simultaneously.

I will try to check the settings on my laptop but I am pretty sure this is what happens when it is plugged in. It will only sleep when closing lid while on battery

I don’t mean defaults, and on my system they all default to Sleep regardless- might be a setup issue but still.

Wouldn’t be a problem if my wifi worked fine, but it has reconnection issues after sleeping, plugged in or not.

I didn’t mean defaults either.

Very sure I explicitly change the settings so that it would only sleep on lid close when under battery power and not when connected to external power.

In both cases it will lock and turn of the screen.

these are the only options i have in my power settings

Lock screen most assuredly doesn’t turn the screen off, and Sleep just… well, sleeps

Hmm, I guess I have it configured to turn off the screen and locking happens automatically.

Need to check whether it does so immediately or after the configured lock timeout
