Setting up your layout for editing isn’t exactly easy. I had mine the way I wanted it in 2..08.3, but can’t seem to get it duplicated in 25.12.1. I wish each function like ‘Project Bin’, ‘Effects’ etc. were in their own independent window that you could size, then dock with other windows. Am sure it’s just me, but I can’t get the functions to layout how I want them. It’s just not easy. Am using Kdenlive on Linux Mint, latest version. I finally go it usable, but I don’t like the layout, my old one was better and I can’t match it. Thanks all, it’s a great editor.
Yes, the layout re-creation could be not so intuitive as previous. But in principle you should be able to re-create the previous layout by docking either to an existing “Panel” or a new “Edge” indicator.
The benefit of the new system is that the layout get saved with the project file. And you can use as many monitors as you want. Now it’s even possible to have the timeline separated on a monitor. And as a benefit you can have widgets as tabs only opens on request to save space (auto-hide).

What could be confusing is that you can place a widget on it’s own so you end up with floating windows all over. To avoid this pay attention to dock to a “Panel docking indicator” which “act as a anchor window”. See point 1: in the documentation.
