Hi,
In the people/“unconfirmed” folder,
when I confirm a bunch of faces, I then often see transient states, with numbers going down, up, down and then up again. Sometimes, it even show a transient section with only 1 person in it, then goes back to the normal display with several people.
This seems a bug, right ?
Or is it considered “normal” ?
Does digiKam uses my recent confirmation to refine the detection of others unconfirmed faces ? that may explain the transient states.
Please advise if I should create a bug report.
I will then attach a video capture.
@AlexBelz35:
First, welcome to the KDE Discuss Forum
The main digiKam window has a few (small) indicators in the bar at the bottom of the window, related to progress of any activity being processed. Updating the “Faces” database is such an activity.
And yes, there ain’t much in the digiKam Handbook related to this issue.
You can alleviate this behaviour if, you move the digiKam databases off to a directory located on a faster disk – such as a SSD or, even better, a NVMe.
Apart from that, it’s a case of “hit the commit button” and then, wait until the processing has completed.
BTW: You didn’t mention “”digiKam“ in this topic’s title – but never mind – hopefully a Forum administrator will change that.
