[Plasma 6.7] The image on the screen freezes

As recommended in the bug tracker

>If you’re not sure this is actually a bug or valid feature request, instead post about it at https://discuss.kde.org

After upgrading to 6.7, the image on the screen freezes a short time after login.
The screen brightness increases to maximum, the night light turns off, and it becomes impossible to switch to another tty. The system does not freeze completely, the sound from the applications continues to play, and the keyboard reacts to clicks by turning on the keyboard backlight.
I have an assumption that this is related to powerdevil, because it often crashes in a circle, but before 6.7 it was noticeable only if you look into the tray or crash reports.
Bug looks very annoying and i assume that it has not been reported yet. What should i do to report it better? /logs/debug/etc?

It looks like I’ve found the cause of the problem and it’s the panel self refresh.
After setting the kernel parameter amdgpu.dcdebugmask=0x10, the image freezes stopped completely, as did the powerdevil and any other random crashes of kde related software.

It seems that some of the changes in 6.7 are causing this annoying bug in the amdgpu driver to surface, since in 6.6 the picture did not freeze, but only cyclical crashes of powerdevil were observed. If it’s important, the screen refresh rate is 120hz.
Mind if i tag you @Zamundaaa ?

The pageflip timeouts issue has a lot of different things that can make the problem more or less likely. There isn’t really anything we can do about it except wait for the fix to be merged (which should happen soon)
