Plasma appears to crash/freezes commonly

Issues are only getting worse each update, i did a fresh system install and its worse than ever, completely fresh no additional software. quite honestly getting ridiculous to this point, I don’t want to complain as I love kde but this is legitimately unusable. neofetch screenshot below.

How about giving another distro a try.
I also have 3 laptops, 1 AMD and 2 Intel GPUs and no freezing issues.
Wonder if running your distro of choice from a live usb stick for sometime will have the same issue.

Did you try to create a new user account and see if the problems are reproduced there?

the issue on this distro should’nt exist and im currently not willing to switch. also as ive mentioned multiple times the issue does happen on the live usb.

I’ve done multiple reinstalls now and it happens universally. On different drives and computers and every single one suffers from this issue.

Ive had to move my full development setup to my laptop which is running a hugely outdated version of kde, and i cant update it or else I will get the issues on it, but this is much less ideal then using my proper computer.

All that on clean default user accounts with no customization?

If so this seems bizarre that you can 100% reproduce crashes on a variety of hardware but nobody else who looked at this thread has reported something similar.

Do you even get a Dr. Konqi crash dialog?

I completely clear the drive and install from scratch, ive even got a portable drive just to test it and its happened on every single piece of hardware ive tried it on. ive given all i can really find relating the crashes.

not to mention with the release of qt 6.7. the system locks up so much itle take multiple hours just to open a terminal

Can you share the output of kinfo on two of such devices that you have? Or the output of inxi?

i can barely get past the login screen anymore.

the system freezes right on boot as of the latest patches released, it can take upwards of a few hours to finally respond.

might be worth noting that all my systems only use btrfs so all the filesystems are btrfs.

I do notice that one of my cores maxes out whenever this freeze happens

I also run btrfs, so I don’t think it should be a factor, but it is a very complex file system and it would make sense to try an install using ext4.

Can you switch to a VT and run top to see what process pegs the CPU?

whats VT, also i managed to boot in and this is what ive found in the logs

also inxi doesnt exist but here is kinfo

also i can repeatedly get it to freeze every time i close any and all windows.

I just need a fix for this issue pronto, my plasma shell crashing every few seconds, desktop becoming unusable, everything from plasma reloading, etc is just not acceptable.

this happens every freeze

update, cant confirm i actually fixed it but i used mainline kernels to force update to latest linux, and it seems to be smoother now.
