Plasma Login Manager - Blank Screen on Login

Just gave the Plasma Login Manager a quick go. I followed the setup guide on the Arch Wiki, not that there is much to do expect install it and turn off SDDM. When I reboot the new login manager appears and seems to work OK until I actually try to login. Then I just get a blank screen. I’ve left it sat for a few minutes but it stays blank. I can’t find this issue anywhere in the current reports, so posting here before I log the bug. Any Suggestions? How did I screw it up ?

OS: EndeavourOS (recently installed, fully up to date)
CPU: AMD 5800X3D
GPU: AMD 7900XT

Is it really “blank” ? Do you have a mouse cursor ? Can you switch a tty ?

If either is true that’s plasmashell that didn’t start, either it failed or your configuration is wrong.

Check your logs journcalctl systemd/Journal - ArchWiki

I’ll test again tomorrow but I think the mouse did appear. Not sure what configuration I’m missing. I followed the Arch Wiki guide which indicates there isn’t anything need.

The option in the bottom right was set to Wayland but switching it to X11 and immediately switching it back to wayland seemed to fix it.

I had already tried adding following to /etc/plasmalogin.conf but that didn’t work.

[General]
DefaultSession=plasma.desktop

Anyway Working now.
