Hi and welcome.
I don’t exactly understand what you mean with this. You say the top bar does not display any text.
In your screenshot I do see text in the top bar, so what is the top bar without text and what text did you expect?
Here in my laptop it looks like this:
Sorry if I confused you earlier—I was keeping it short since I’m not great at English. Anyway, as you can see, the text for ‘CPU’ and ‘Memory’ etc. was gone in the last screenshot, but now it’s back. I can’t tell if it’s a bug or if I did something wrong.
Looks like the text is gone in your screenshot too. Is there a switch I missed, or did I overlook something?
Additionally, to prevent any confusion, I’m using the default software settings without any modifications. The labels for ‘CPU’ and ‘Memory’ are set to display as ‘Text only’.
I was too late to see the post you deleted, so don’t worry. Now I see what you mean. And yes, here I have the same issue: no column headers except for name.
We have the same Plasma version, so it could mean there is something wrong with it. I also see the same issue in a 2nd laptop, also with the same Plasma version.
I’m starting up an old laptop now, really old and slow, with MX Linux on it but it decided to install updates first, so I have to wait to see which version I have in there and if it also has the same issue.
Well, the old laptop finally booted and it has an older version of Plasma: 6.3.6. with Framework 6.13.0. System monitor in here has all the texts it needs. Now this can mean 2 things:
Or the newer KDE has indeed a problem, or it comes from Fedora because you and I both use Fedora. My MX Linux laptop has no problems.
Is there anybody who uses the same Plasma and Frameworks version, and another distro than Fedora, who can have a look in the system monitor to see if the column headers miss or not?
Thank you.
Thank you very much for your reply. I understand your point, but unfortunately, I’m currently unable to switch my system to another distribution. I’ll have to wait for other members to discuss it further. Thanks again for your input, and I wish you all the best
No, I did not mean to make you change distros. I was just wondering if the issue is caused by KDE which released a faulty package, OR that it is caused by Fedora since we both use that distro.
Please don’t change. Just wait it out, there will be a solution.
Bye.
Until a fix can be found you can open Konsole and type top or htop (has various options) then enter. I listed my distro in a previous post and all is ok with Sytem Monitor on my end.
