I tried out different profiles in the sounds menu and switched to pro-audio. Now if i want to change the profile the options are off or pro-audio. I want to get back to digital stereo

if you choose the configure button in the volume widget you should see all the devices your pc supports
you may need to click on the show inactive devices button.
for each device you can choose off, digital audio, or pro audio.
i generally leave my GPU audio device off and just use the m/b audio (usb audio) for the head phones and i have a separate audio device for my external speakers that i always just leave on analog.

I’ve installed a fresh copy of Fedora KDE Plasma Desktop 44 (iso was downloaded on 2026-08-09 at about 00:13 UTC), updated my packages and installed latest nvidia drivers also on 2026-08-09 at about 14:00 UTC.
(I was also able to reproduce this issue on another install without updated packages using the same iso file, but the example I will give follows on from updated packages.)
The steps I did to reproduce are such (numbers follow screenshots which I unfortunately am not able to attach right now):
I open Settings(1), I see that Analog Stereo Duplex is selected by default. When I check which other profiles are available I see Pro Audio and other options(2) (Off, Analog Stereo Duplex, Analog Stereo Output, Analog Surround 4.0 Output + Analog Stereo Input, Analog Surround 4.0 Output, Analog Stereo Input, Pro Audio). I keep profile as Analog Stereo Duplex then test speakers, both work(3), these are my left bottom speaker and right bottom speaker respectively despite them showing as left and right. I exit the test then change profile to Pro Audio(4). I test the speakers(5), I cannot hear aux0 nor aux1, I can hear static play when testing aux2 (left speaker) or aux3 (right speaker). I exit the test then change profile to Analog Stereo Duplex(6) which is the default profile. I test the two speakers shown and they both work as intended, like before. I then change the profile to Pro Audio again(7) and the speaker options are the same as when I select Pro Audio the first time, and the same nothing on aux0 nor aux1 and static on aux2 or aux3. I then change from Pro Audio to Off. I look at the profile options(8) and there are only Off or Pro Audio. I select Pro Audio then expand it(9) which reveals Playback Devices as shown in screenshot 9. then I check profile options for the top device AD107 High Definition Audio Controller Pro which shows options Off or Pro Audio, with no other profile options, this is the same for all of the other options except for Ryzen HD Audio Controller(11) which shows the same complete set of options as in screenshot 2 including Analog Stereo Duplex, however its profile was set to Off initially so I don’t want to change this. I test speakers of device AD107 High Definition Audio Controller Pro(12) however none of the now 8 options, (aux0 through aux7) give any audible output.

I have plugged in a pair of headphones through my aux port, which are not detected (but I know these normally work via aux port while not using Pro Audio that I cannot switch out of now).
Plugging the same pair of headphones in using an aux female to usb-c male converter, the converter shows up in Playback Devices and I can successfully select this Playback Device then test both left and right speakers in the headphones which both work.
Now, if I plug the laptop into an external monitor via HDMI, the profile options for Pro Audio include Stereo or Digital Surround options(13). I go to test this(14) then when I press aux0 a different subwindow(15) shows and static plays from my monitor. I select the new aux0 or aux1 and these work for my monitor left or right speakers respectively. When I exit test then try to test again, which yields the exact same result, first showing more options then showing two which work. I tested other aux number options and they all lead to two new options, but some of them play no audio initially instead of static. I can freely switch between the profiles available for device AD107 High Definition Audio Controller Pro, all of these profiles work. When I disconnect my monitor, I get the same results as when I initially tested Pro Audio which means no audio on aux0 through aux7.
I should also mention none of the other AD107 High Definition Audio Controller Pro number devices produce any audio and also have Off or Pro Audio as their only profile options.
Showing inactive devices shows a Dummy Output, which produces no audio when tested.
For now I will reinstall the OS from iso again and not touch Pro Audio.
P.S. screenshots are not uploading for me for some reason right now so I sincerely hope the details provide a full picture.
