Possible to keep X window on top of Y app's window only?

I usually want the Android Emulator to stay on top of my text editor or IDE window. But I don’t want it on top of everything…

Right now i’m working around by having a virtual desktop with only the IDE and the emulator, so the it can stay on top and the only application is the IDE :slight_smile: But would be nice to go back to my default workflow of a single desktop and just switching applications with SUPER+[1,2,3…]

I tried a window rule, but I always fail to understand how to use them.

you would have to set up your own window rules to do that.

click on the desktop and type “window rules” and go to the corresponding settings page.

there is a help button there that may be useful.

I’ve spent a lot of time on the windows rules and gave up them a long time ago. I can never 1) get the granularity i need, or 2) do the action i want.
