Possible to remove applications from Places in launcher?

Hey all,

using KDE for some months, luv it to bits. On the application launcher, there is a Places section, which is used to display specific folders. I’d like to remove the applications listed there and just have it list the folders.

That is, I’d like to remove the bit I’ve circled in red here and leave just the ‘Places’ section, but I haven’t found if this is possible or not. I find them redundant and would prefer to leave them out (maybe keep KRunner) but keep the quick buttons for my home folders (I do a lot of work in Documents and Video especially.) Is this possible?

hi, welcome.

i’m afraid that kick off menu is what it is.

there are some config options under the button in the upper right, but nothing to disable the Applications section, or control what appears there.

there are alternative kick off menus tho, and maybe one of those are better suited.

i use the application menu myself and it has a favorites bar instead of access to places, so you can choose which apps you want to keep handy like that.

the application menu is nice too but i think i’ll stick with the launcher for now. thank you for the help !
