Project Monitor and Clip Monitor as layout tabs - Linux

Kdenlive 25.08.0:

I’m having real problems trying to move the project monitor and clip monitor into the same layout window - so they appear as tabs above the timeline. This is only in Linux (Ubuntu and Fedora). I can do it fine in Windows.

I’ve tried the usual dragging of the layout windows but nothing seems to work. I can drag them into separate panels or windows outside the layout section but not over each other as tabs in a single panel window.

Are you using the official Kdenlive AppImage or flatpack Downloads - Kdenlive ?

I’m using the 25.08.0 version in the Ubuntu App Center

This is not an official version of Kdenlive. Please try with the AppImage or the flatpak from Downloads - Kdenlive . If the issue doesn’t appear then it’s with the distributer, something we cannot solve.

KdenLive Version 25.11.70 (AppImage Linux) and Version 25.08.0 (Arch)

Hi, I’ve got the same issue as SimonLev . I made a horizontal layout with the dock area orientation to columns, the Project Monitor is full height on the right and I try to group them in the same layout but I can’t.

Try with the latest appimage build but still got the bug.

I managed to sort the problem by downloading the appimage from the Kdenlive website and running it. It still took a lot of fiddling around and failed dragging attempts but eventually it worked.

I’m starting to have the issue again. This is on the latest CachyOS (6.17.0-3). I’m using the official AppImage (25.08.01) downloaded from the Kdenlive downloads webpage.
