Hello,
I’m a new Linux user and this is my first time using Linux (CachyOS with KDE Plasma). I have a question regarding the application menu.
I made several changes under “Edit Applications,” but even after clicking “Save,” those changes are not applied. They also don’t take effect after a subsequent reboot.
it appears as tho you are using the application launcher rather than the application menu in your first picture.
the app launcher only seems to reflect the order of the categories (or submenus) in the menu editor. You can reorder them, or create new ones using the menu editor, but that’s all.
the panel on the right is showing you the contents of the internet category and is only showing you the applications — sorted alphabetically. It will not show nested folders, spacers or show things in the order you have them in the menu editor.
mine works the same way, which is one of the reason i don’t use it.
if you want full control over what is INSIDE the categories, then you need to use the alternative widget called application MENU. Right click on your app launcher and choose show alternatives to find the app menu.
