actually an alternating black and grey screen like it’s trying to bring up the SDDM login but failing…everything up to that point looks normal (grub, splash, etc).
but the machine is unresponsive, no TTY, no blind login success… only a hard reboot back to the firmware.
tried advanced optinons from grub, up to and including going back to 6.17 kernel… no change
had to restore from timeshift snapshot using a live USB of kubuntu 24.04 i happen to have handy (now labeled as such).
anyone else having issues with this update in discover (two prime suspects deselected) ?
i don’t want to apply these update until i know it’s been fixed.
one change since this happened is that now it includes a git package in addition to the firmware
here is what apt says will be upgraded.
libgit2-1.7 libyelp0 linux-firmware yelp
the git packages was not included when i tried the update last time.
there is also this in the line item for the firmware

could that be related?
