Hi, new to this forum and Kdenlive.
But looking forward to doing some video clips.
I went to the Tattoo in Edinburgh and got some half-decent footage there.
The only thing I couldn’t;t avoid was the people in front of me, Yes I got the back of their heads
So my question is > Can Kdenlive remove objects/people from the video clips?
be great if I can somehow.
Hi, and welcome to the forum and community.
And do what with it? Replace it with what is behind them? No, but I think there may be some AI-supported tools out there that can “guess” what was obstructed by the heads/objects.
Replace it with other stuff? Yes, by using the Rotoscoping
effect that makes the area see-thru (creates an alpha channel) so that underlying clips can show through.
Yes your answer has made me realise it’s a big ask, thank you
I’ll just have to either zoom right in or be in a better position taking vids.
As an aside.>
Just wondred if videos can be uploaded to this forum.
I think once you reach a certain status you can attach files. But I would always recommend to just post links to a shared storage in the cloud …
Try “Rotoscoping” and “Mask” the unwanted portions.
how does that work mottechy?
There are some good KDENLIVE tutorials in YouTube.
search for “Kdenlive rotoscoping” videos.
Best Wishes!
Thank you I will have a look.
I have a load of turials bookmarked on my pc
Crikey, just had a look at one mottechy.
I don’t think I’ll have time to be that good Wish I was younger lol
It’s amazing what can be done in Kdenlive isn’t it.

Try step by step… You can overcome your limits…
Ha, I’m 77 on Feb 2025. and learning things before i pop off.
And it’s been a long journey up to now.
Damn !!!, I’ve accidentally removed it while I was clearing some stuff on the PC,.
Does anyone have a download link, please?
I tried myself and I got a notice saying = Microsoft doesn’t recognise this app etc.
Thank you.
what one do i go for, please?
when I click on the “Instable” box it shows a sign saying “The app you’re trying to instal isn’t recognised by Microsoft”
Hmm, that’s weird. I am on Windows 11, and when I click on the “Installable” button on the download page, I am prompted with specifying the path for downloading kdenlive-24.08.1.exe
. Once downloaded, I open that folder and double-click on that file and it installs Kdenlive.
Yes, it is weird, although i’m on Windows 10 still (for a while).
I managed to download it before, and that was on the Instable box I think.
Pitty I accidently uninstalled it
can anyone else help me, please?
I’m really having a nightmare trying to download it again, not sure why. It should be straightforward shouln’t it?
I can’t even get 7zip to try it that way.
Looks like your Windows installation is botched …
