It wasn’t merged because the better way to implement this is with org.kde.plasma.core.Dialog, but back then I lacked the libplasma knowledge to do that.

I didn’t understand quite correctly:
It’s a new feature for Plasma 5.26. Currently it only works on Wayland and is broken on X11. But it’s the way we should make the KRunner window resizable.

Ah. Nate is saying that the functionality involving Plasma Dialogs being resizable had an X11-specific bug back then. I didn’t even account for that ![]()
So nowadays everthing seem so promising to finally change krunner for better.
Yes, this is another of the recurring discussions - not a fresh issue and one that’s pinned to the whiteboard, so I fully expect eventually to have the ability to set krunner to auto-resize if lines are too long, or be flexible as with the resizable menu (drag to set the new size which is permanent).
But it’s hard not to be impatient.
