Shall KDE Bugzilla and/or Discourse ever be connected to Identity or GitLab SSO?

Most KDE services utilise Identity as their SSO backend, and these are being transitioned to GitLab OAuth2 (albeit, with Identity as the backend for it, for now). However, Bugzilla and Discourse lack this.

I’ve found it strange, considering that these are KDE’s most popular websites. Having them utilise the same SSO provider would make registration easier.

I guess Bugzilla is just too old or otherwise cumbersome to do this.

However discuss.kde.org can do this already. The option is called “as a KDE Contributor”.

@krake, in retrospect, I can’t use that because of KDE’s Discourse configuration:

Any idea of where I can request for that Boolean to be modified?

That’s certainly a prevalent opinion:

However, it exists at openSUSE’s instance:

My best guess is the respective category on bugs.kde.org

My recollection of discussions around Bugzilla is that everybody has essentially their own version. Either heavily patched or entirely forked.

@krake, thanks, as usual. Suggested at bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=519065.
