- IMPLEMENTED BETTER BLUR DX
Since “Better Blur” is no longer being maintained, I installed “Better Blur DX” (a Better Blur fork).
There are a lot of people using transparent windows (with blur and such) and I always have one question: it looks really nice, but how can you be productive with it? For example the last image with EndeavourOS fastfetch, there is this white background stripe that makes some parts of the white text hard to read. It is still readable, but I need a moment more to read it. Just curious, no critics.
It really depends on the individual, so I can’t speak for everyone. Personally, I find text on semi transparent background hard to read. However, with about 60% to 80% translucency, I have no trouble reading it, even on top of a light background.
I don’t know why, but I find it hard to read white on black text if the background is too dark. Like, those AMOLED deep black themes give me headaches. So I tend to turn on some transparency and have a lighter background, so that it’s easier for me to read. And I use light mode during the day (but that’s far too bright at night).
