Just checking it its a bug: Should we expect animated webp images to play in Digikam media player and slideshow?..

It doesnt seem to work,
no biggy , just noticed.

Hi! I’m not a frequent Digikam user myself, but it does look like this topic has come up as a bug report: 490848 – Digikam fails to preview animated .webp files

A Digikam developer mentioned there that animated WebP images can’t be played because decoding them still needs to be built into the underlying upstream library, ffmpeg.
