[SOLVED] Big translation concerns with Plasma

My spoken language is French and I am not very good at English. What was my surprise to note that Plasma was partially appeared in French.

The simplest example is a right click on the desktop, the menu displayed is in English while all the parameters are good for French.
Same thing with the configuration. If the header (for example “system configuration” are in French the content is in English.

Is there a bug ???

Thank you and happy end of year celebrations.

My config
Operating System: Manjaro Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.10
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.113.0
Qt Version: 5.15.11
Kernel Version: 6.5.13-7-MANJARO (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 7700 8-Core Processor
Memory: 62,0 Gio of RAM
Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT
Manufacturer: ASUS

I had the same problem, but with spanish… My login screen and some menu displayed in spanish, rest in english.

I fixed by resetting my locales with dpkg-reconfigure locales
It can take a while to do, but it fixed my language issues.

DM me if you want more details, I speak french!

Merci YannickKDE

Hélas le dpkg-reconfigure me met “command not found”, même après l’installation. Je suis sous manjaro (ArchLinux)

Unfortunately the DPKG-Reconfigure puts me “Command Not Found”.
even after installation. I am under Manjaro (Archlinux)

Je me réponds pour informer aussi les autres utilisateurs de KDE.

Sous Manjaro il faut un

sudo pacman -Syu glibc-locales --overwrite /usr/lib/locales/\*/\*

Solution given on manjaro.fr by cenwen that I remember.

FYI dpkg stands for Debian packages, it is a debian-derivative (and ubuntu) only tool, so you won’t get it under manjaro/arch.
