Hello! First post here but wanted to join and get some help.
I’m pretty new to Linux overall and I’m using Kubuntu. Overall I love KDE Plasma’s experience and feel after switching over from Windows, but I’ve had a strange issue regarding display scaling and chosen resolutions on certain fullscreen apps. Currently I have the following setup: a 3840x2160@60hz monitor on the left, and a 2560x1440@180hz on the right. I have the left 4k monitor scaled to 150% to make its contents comfortable to read, and to match the size of those on my right 1440p monitor. I use the 1440p monitor as my primary monitor, especially for any gaming.
However, when launching various fullscreen apps (mostly games via Steam), despite being opened on the 1440p monitor, they all seem to think that the proper native resolution to use is 3840x2160. I know this issue is related to my scaling options, as changing my 4k monitor’s scaling back to 100% (thus making everything far too small on it) solves this issue, and all opened apps properly identify 2560x1440 as the native resolution.
Is there a way I could keep my 4k monitor on the left at 150% scaling, while forcing apps that open on my 1440p monitor on the right to recognize 1440p as the native resolution? Thanks! Screenshot below is of my display settings.
